Chief Oil & Gas participated in the 23rd Annual Susquehanna County Dairy Day on Friday, March 2, 2012.  Over 70 exhibitors and 15 community and health organizations participated in the event that was held at Elk Lake High School in Susquehanna County.  The agriculture-focused event, sponsored by Penn State Extension, hosted 700 participants. Educational programs were available as well, including free health screenings.

“As part of our commitment to local communities, Chief participates in a variety of outreach and educational programs.  Dairy Day is an example of this.  This event is unique because it offers the opportunity to interact with our landowners and other stakeholders directly involved with agriculture,” stated Kristi Gittins, VP of Industry & Public Affairs for Chief Oil & Gas.  “We answered questions about development and had discussions about how the natural gas industry is benefiting the local community.”

A highlight of the event was the annual pie contest and auction.  The proceeds from the auction support the Susquehanna County 4H Dairy Program and the Susquehanna County Dairy Princess program.
